YOUR BABY'S HEALTH

Pregnancy brings about many changes, both physically and emotionally.  It is important that you take the very best care of yourself and your baby throughout your pregnancy as good prenatal care is essential to your baby’s health. Many moms are unaware that they are pregnant, until later in the pregnancy. If that describes you, do not despair, it is never too late to start prenatal care.  Prenatal care includes: medical care, good nutrition, lots of rest, and to the extent possible, minimizing stress in your life.

“Baby’s Best Chance” Resource guide (available at your local Public Health Unit) or online: http://www.bestchance.gov.bc.ca/ contains lots of good information.

Pregnancy is an important time to focus on making healthy choices, avoiding hazards, and building a support team. This book provides up-to-date information on healthy pregnancy, infant care, and parenting for babies up to 6 months of age. Endorsed by professional organizations, this publication is in high demand province-wide by parents and health care providers.
