OUR PROMISE TO YOU:

ABOUT US:
Brandon is a journeyman roofer and part owner of his family's roofing business. Anneli is an RN with a background in maternity, public health and fertility education. Brandon and Anneli have been married for almost 11 years, and grew up together in the same community. We met at a youth group and were close family friends. We've always had a very open, loving and team oriented relationship.
Our main goals for our children are for them to be happy, healthy, well rounded and confident. We want them to know they are loved for who they are.
We both come from large families and have always dreamed of having a large family of our own. Adoption for us means opening our home and family to another child and their birth family; extending our family circle.
Brandons loves movies like Lord of the Rings and musicals . He enjoys reading fantasy/fiction books, listening to country or rock music, and working outside on creative projects. He is athletic and can play almost any sport!
Anneli’s favourite movie is the Count of Monte Cristo. She loves eating popcorn and anything sourdough. Her favourite music is country, and worship. Anneli loves to sing, play guitar and piano, and go on long walks.
We want to raise our family in a loving and faith filled home. We value living a healthy and active lifestyle where we grow our own food, play outdoors, and grow in relationship with others. We strive to live a well rounded and joyful life, not a perfect one!
ABOUT OUR FAMILY:
Our family currently includes our 5 year old biological son, Benjamin. Ben is a very social, playful and energetic boy. He loves dinosaurs, playing outdoors, and building with his dad. He is very excited to have siblings! We both come from families of 10 kids, so our extended family is quite large! We do a lot with them, especially on weekends. We have a few pets - Forrest, our black lab, Ruby and Copper (cats) and some farm animals.
Brandon and Anneli are both Canadian. Anneli’s heritage is Scottish and Dutch and Brandon’s heritage is French, Italian, German and Metis. Some of our favourite destinations are camping in BC, trips to Alberta and Northern BC to visit family/friends, and occasional trips to the US.
On a typical weekend, we do farm chores/projects, outside playtime, movie nights, church on Sunday mornings, and brunch with family.
A few family traditions include Friday movie night, going to our parents cabin, and family celebrations. In the summer we enjoy lots of swimming/beaches, playing outside, walks, gardening, and bike rides. In the winter we play games in the evening, spend time building lego or magnatiles, reading, and going to the library or pool on rainy days.
Ben homeschooled for kindergarten this year, so we spend lots of time learning in the morning and playing in the afternoon! We are part of a homeschool co-op that meets on Fridays for field trips and group activities. Our days are full of routine but always flexible.
OUR HOME & COMMUNITY:
Our home is playful, safe, and inviting. We often spend time outside together. Our neighborhood is quiet and friendly.
We live on a 10 acre property surrounded by trees and nature, with many places to explore. We are Canadian and proud to be from different heritages. We enjoy learning about different cultures and experiencing new things. We are open and accepting to all.
We both volunteer at church and Anneli is part of a women's group. Ben loves to socialize with other kids. We participate in community events such as fundraisers, farm markets, local community events, and library activities.
OPENNESS:
Openness to us means keeping a positive relationship with our adoptive child’s birth family and maintaining connection so that they know the importance of where they come from. We would like to maintain a level of openness that is most comfortable to you. If desired, we will send pictures and information to include you in our child’s life and we are open to discussing visits.
