​Sunrise Family Services Society is a government-licensed B.C. Adoption Agency located in North Vancouver, that deliver services throughout the Province. Sunrise works with birth parents wishing to place their children for adoption, and adoptive parents applying to adopt domestically or internationally.

 

Sunrise is looking for Social Workers, who are registered with the BC College of Social Workers (BCCSW), to work with adoptive parents, complete homestudies post-placement reports, and to work with birth parents who are considering making an adoption plan.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of social work experience, ideally in child protection, family assessment, counselling, or adoption and fostering. Applicants should have some experience in writing assessment reports. They must demonstrate skills in interviewing families, writing, and risk assessment. Experience in facilitating parenting education is an asset. Applicants should be passionate about working with families, self-motivated and able to critically think and assess. Applicants who can work in other languages, such as Punjabi, Spanish, or Mandarin will be seen as a strength.

The openings available are contract positions throughout British Columbia. The hours of work are flexible, and will depend on the demand for homestudies or the number of birth parents in your area. Many of our contract social workers also have part time or full time work elsewhere.
