Kyla and Hayden
OUR PROMISE TO YOU:
Our promise is to nurture and raise a child with unconditional love, unwavering support, and the resources they need to grow and thrive. We will create opportunities for them in sports and the performing arts, believing in a gentle, encouraging approach that empowers the child to explore, learn, and become their best self.
Our home will be one of warmth, understanding, and acceptance, where the child feels not only loved but also valued for who they are. We are committed to parenting with empathy, communication, and respect, ensuring their emotional well-being is always a priority.
We will instill values of compassion, integrity, and resilience, equipping them to face life's challenges with confidence. As their parents, we pledge to be their constant advocates, supporting them through every triumph and trial.
ABOUT US:
We first met in 2002 at university, and since then, we've been inseparable. We've grown together, supporting each other through life's many adventures. In 2021, we made the big decision to move permanently from Australia to Canada, a choice that was inspired by our time here in 2010. Our love for ice hockey, skiing, and snowboarding has made us true Canadians at heart, and you'll often find us cheering at Canucks games. Hayden loves playing hockey in a local league, while Kyla thrives in the arts, performing in musical theatre productions around the city. She also shares her passion by teaching dance, singing, and acting to children
.
We believe in offering the same balance of sports and arts to a child, giving them the freedom to explore and discover what excites them most. We are committed to fostering an environment where they feel encouraged to pursue their own passions, whether on the ice or the stage.
Professionally, Hayden works as a Marketing Manager for a real estate company, and Kyla is a Client Relationship Manager for a real estate developer. Our careers allow us to provide a stable, supportive home, while still making time for the things we love, both as individuals and as a family.
ABOUT OUR FAMILY:
Our family consists of the two of us and our beloved 5-year-old Newfoundland dog, Lucy. Lucy is the heart of our home, a gentle giant who adores human interaction, especially with children. Her playful nature and soft demeanor make her an irreplaceable part of our lives, bringing joy to everyone she meets.
Our extended family is spread across the globe. Hayden's parents, sisters, and their children live in Australia, while Kyla's brother and his son reside in Finland. Despite the distance, we maintain close ties, regularly connecting through calls, visits, and shared memories. Our family’s love transcends borders, keeping us connected despite the miles between us.
Lucy also adds a special element to our family dynamic. She’s particularly good with children and thrives in a loving, playful environment, making her a wonderful companion. We often imagine how she’ll interact with a child, and we know she’ll be protective, gentle, and endlessly loyal.
Although our family is spread out, our bond is strong. We cherish the time spent with loved ones, near and far, and look forward to creating new memories as we continue to grow. We are committed to fostering a warm, nurturing home where love, connection, and joy are at the center of everything.
OUR HOME & COMMUNITY:
Our home is a place of simple joys and natural beauty. Surrounded by parks, with nearby shops, schools, and stunning views of water and mountains, every day feels like a gift. What truly makes this place special, though, is the close-knit community we've become a part of. Our friends have become family, providing an unwavering support network that makes our lives richer and more connected.
OPENNESS:
Our primary focus is the child's well-being, and we believe that understanding their history is vital for their growth. We welcome the chance to build a meaningful relationship with the birth family, as it can greatly enrich the child's life.
We are open-minded about how this relationship may evolve over time. Whether through in-person meetings, letters, emails, or phone calls, we are dedicated to facilitating whatever is needed for the child to connect with their roots. Our priority is to offer support and guidance as they navigate their identity and heritage.
