OUR PROMISE TO YOU:

I promise to be a solid parent for our child. I will ensure that our child is loved and cared for deeply. I promise to always try to listen to them, guide them, hold them, play with them, and to be patient and calm with them. I will create a cozy and loving home for our child. I will make sure to help our child with their schoolwork and I will encourage them to do well in school and to hopefully go to university one day. I will also expose our child to their own culture and to different cultures. I will take them on many meaningful adventures. We will go camping, visit new places, cities, and countries. I promise that our child will belong to a loving family and you are welcome to be part of that family too.

ABOUT US:

I am a grade 5 teacher in an indigenous community in British Columbia. I have also taught and lived in Egypt, Japan, and Senegal in West Africa. I speak French and basic Spanish. I currently help coach the snowboarding team where I teach now, and I have also coached a girls’ soccer team at the school where I taught in Egypt. I also have a master’s degree in Management and Entrepreneurship, and I have taught in a college in a business program.

I live an adventurous lifestyle. I enjoy traveling, hiking, snowboarding, discovering new cultures, learning, reading, and spending time with family and friends. I plan to continue to live a fun and adventurous lifestyle with our child. I am fortunate to have lots of time off in the summer to explore with my family.

I am French Canadian and Metis. I do not have a partner but I hope to get married one day. I also hope that my partner will become the father of our child. I have always wanted to adopt a child. I feel like adoption is the best route for me to take to create a family. I imagine that it will be a very special and rewarding experience.

ABOUT OUR FAMILY:

I have a large extended family with many cousins and aunts and uncles. We often get together for special occasions, such as Christmas and weddings. My immediate family also enjoys spending time together. I have an older sister and a younger brother. My sister is married and she has one son, my nephew. I spend a lot of time with my nephew. We often hike together and explore local restaurants.

Most recently, we went on a three-day canoe trip together in Northern Ontario. My family also owns a cabin and we go ice fishing and cross-country skiing in the winter. My nephew, brother, and I have also been on several snowboarding trips together in Alberta and British Columbia. My parents also rent a condo every winter in Mexico and our family is always welcome to join them.

My mom is the one who encouraged me to adopt a child and my family is very supportive and excited for me to adopt. We are a fun-loving adventurous bunch. I also have many friends with children whom I spend lots of time with. For example, my best friend and her family live in Norway and they have already invited our child and I to come visit for a month.

OUR HOME & COMMUNITY:

I live in a beautiful little house outside of the city. I am surrounded by many trees, rivers and lakes. I am walking distance from a beach and campground. I also live close to the indigenous community where I teach. This community has really made me feel welcome and I often participate in cultural activities on the reserve. I live in a great place to raise a family.

OPENNESS:

I respect whatever you choose in terms of openness in this adoption. I promise to make sure that our child is part of your life if that is what you want. We could plan to meet a couple of times a year, and I can definitely send updates and photos via email or text messages. We may travel or even live in a different country for a few years because of my career but I promise to come back to BC for visits. I also understand if it is too difficult for you to see our child. Let’s figure out something that works for all of us.
